Average travel time to fishing grounds:
Nationally protected since 1968, the Wild & Scenic Section of the Rogue River offers exciting whitewater, incredible hiking, overnight camping, and historic lodges. Trips leave on specific dates due to permits.
The canyon's charm lies in its thrilling whitewater stretches, alternated with mild riffles, placid pools, and narrow canyons edged by towering cliffs. The old growth Douglas fir forest, mixed with deciduous trees, creates a perfect river bank habitat for the abundant wildlife of the Rogue River Canyon. Otter, beaver, deer, Roosevelt elk, black bear, cougars, osprey, bald eagles, mallards, wood ducks, wild turkeys, and many others flourish in the wilderness river canyon.
Oar rafts, paddle rafts, and inflatable kayaks are all available on our Wild Section Trips. The whitewater on the Wild Section is rated class III - IV in the canyon with two exciting Class IV rapids: Blossom Bar Rapid and Mule Creek Canyon. Duration of the trips are from two to four days and cover nearly 40 miles by river. Participants may choose to camp out under the stars, stay in historic wilderness lodges, or combine one or two nights of camping with one night of lodging.
The main lodge includes the following amenities for all guests:
The lodge grounds include five beautiful acres of river-front lawn, ideal for walks, croquet, or football. Explore our private beach. Hike or bike on nearby trails. The lodge also offers the following amenities and activities:
ALL ROOMS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING AMENITIES
The Taylor Creek and Tuck Away cabins also include either kitchenettes or full kitchens. With pre-arranged orders from the kitchen, you can have any meal delivered to your room.
In order to provide the kind of individual instruction we prefer, there is one guide per boat, and each boat holds only two fishermen. Our McKenzie-style drift boats are truly the "Rolls Royce" of river craft. Passengers relax in the luxury of comfortable bucket-type seats with back rests. The guide sits behind where he can give instruction and watch the rod tips for the tell-tale bite.
